is an ever increasing archive of Old UK Photos, showing pictures and images of life and social history in the 19th and early 20th century of Cities, Towns, Villages and Historic Landmarks of England, Scotland and Wales, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands in the British Isles .

Life looked quite affluent in many of the photographs but there were two standards of living, the rich and the poor. The magnificent Victorian buildings showing prosperity but down the ladder life was very hard for the poor.
The seaside holiday and photography developed together, holidays became increasingly popular, the number of photographs offered for sale as memories of the annual week by the coast grew enormously.

When the art of colouring photographs became available in the 1890s,the coloured holiday photographic print, and later the picture postcard really took off through a wonderful collection of coloured photographs covering resorts around the British Isles coast,they gave an unforgettable seaside memory.
